Boston, MA - Richard Goldstein, Esq. was recently named a Partner at Donoghue Barrett & Singal (DB&S) in Boston.  Goldstein, a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, specializes in business litigation, white-collar criminal defense, and the representation of quasi-public authorities and corporations.

Goldstein’s practice includes representing health care practices in litigation and health care fraud investigations, and counseling scientists and academic researchers facing allegations of research fraud.  He also represents political committees supporting or opposing Massachusetts ballot questions and advises clients on matters that come before the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance and the State Ethics Commission.

Goldstein, with more than 15 years in the public sector as a litigation attorney, federal prosecutor, and counsel to Massachusetts state agencies, joined DB&S in 2006.  Prior to joining DB&S, Goldstein served as the head of the Litigation Department at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Trial Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.  He was also an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, an Associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, and a Law Clerk to the Honorable Leonard D. Wexler in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Goldstein, a Sharon resident, is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and New York federal and state courts.  He served as a Board member and Chair of the Adult Education Committee at the Temple Sinai of Sharon, and he is a former member of the Town of Sharon’s Standing Building Committee.

Goldstein received his J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School and his B.A. from the University of Chicago.
